​Beyond Rituals: Ancient Masks, Modern Scenes seeks to explore and reimagine the cultural, historical, and contemporary significance of African masks.
Centered around the idea that African masks are deeply rooted in the traditions and beliefs of African cultures, it recognizes that they serve as vessels connecting the present with the ancestral and spiritual realms. 

The project aims to highlight the multifaceted role of African masks, moving beyond their aesthetic value to convey their profound symbolism and meaning.

This body of work was in partial fulfilment of my M.A program. It was also on display at The Holy Art Gallery in London from Jan. 26 - Feb. 4 2024 and New York Cinema, New York on March 19, 2024.
